Occupational health and safety and environmental protection are not optional in Peru: they are legal obligations enforced by SUNAFIL and OEFA. An accident or an inspection finding can cost lives, fines, stoppages and contracts.

Every employer, whatever its size, must identify hazards, assess risks, train its staff, monitor their health and prove it with records.

What you risk without it

  • Serious and fatal accidents that could have been prevented.
  • SUNAFIL fines of up to 52.53 UIT for each very serious infringement.
  • Stoppage or prohibition of work when there is serious and imminent risk.
  • Criminal liability for the employer for endangering its workers.

General Environmental Law, Law No. 28611, and sector regulations

Companies must meet the commitments of their environmental management instruments, control their impacts and report to the authority with verifiable evidence.
